Planning
One of the biggest hurdles to overcome is the planning process. After all, you can’t go ahead unless you have planning approval.
If you choose to appoint one of our partners to manage the architectural process, before the proverbial pencil hits the paper and a design is started they will need to know about your plot and establish any unique local planning policies that may affect the scheme.
Sometimes this means liaison with a planning officer on an informal basis, other times it means simply understanding the local planning policy, and other times it might mean a few meetings face to face with a planning officer, Parish Council or local residents.
Ultimately, nobody wants your project to fail, so English Brothers and our partners will do as much as we can to make sure that what you want is what you’ll get. Sometimes we might have to tell you that you can’t have what you want, or that you need to compromise a little, so be prepared!
It is always worth remembering that when it comes to planning, no matter how much time and effort goes into the process a positive outcome cannot always be guaranteed.

Local Authorities are expected to assess and determine a planning application within eight weeks. It is unlikely to be any quicker, but hopefully no longer.
