What We Do

Researching your project and trying to figure out what type of construction to use, and then which company to put your trust (and money!) into is no easy task and can be quite daunting. We really do appreciate you taking the time to learn a little more about English Brothers and we hope this website helps you to understand why we’re a little different to other companies you might be considering.

You’re starting off on quite a journey and, unless you’ve done it before, there’s an awful lot to take in. In fact, even if you have done it before you’ll probably find that things have moved on considerably.

You’ll need to learn about different ways of heating, cooling and ventilating your home. You’ll learn about foundations, different materials, thermal performance, airtightness, U-values, the vast array of window and glazing options, and perhaps the single most important aspect: the pros and cons of the various types of construction.

Timber frame is just one of many types of construction. However, it is arguably the most flexible, efficient and sustainable method.

At English Brothers we take those key benefits of timber frame construction and use them to maximum advantage. We mix them in with our outstanding expertise and knowledge of self-build, the very latest design and engineering technology coupled with the benefit of good old-fashioned experience (you can’t buy that off the shelf) and top it off with a large dollop of customer service.
